BASIL HOLY (Ocimum sanctimum)

Basil Holy, Tulsi,
Popularly know as basil, Tulsi is extremely aromatic and stimulatingIt has many antibacterial, anti-stress, anti-fungal, and antibiotic properties. Like sandalwood, the aroma is conducive to meditation.

It is used in many skin treatments, and is particularly helpful in smoothening and softening the skin. Leaves and seeds are used to treat skin problems; roots are used for fever, bee stings, and insect bites. Other uses include treating nausea, motion sickness, gastric and liver disorders, hemmorrhage, diarrhea, and vomiting.

BASIL SWEET (Ocimum basilicum)

Nerve tonic, sharpens memory, relieves mental fatigue, Good for respiratory problems.

Basil oil is a good tonic for the treatment of nervous disorders and stress related headaches, migraines and allergies.

It refreshes the skin and helps control acne. It can irritate a sensitive skin and must be used in low concentrations.

It is effective in digestive disorders, ranging from nausea to hiccups and for infections in the respiratory tract. It is useful for wasp and insect bites, particularly that of mosquitoes.

In vapor therapy Basil oil s a very beneficial oil for migraines, headaches and concentration, also has an uplifting effect on depression.

Basil oil in a warm bath helps to minimize uric acid in the blood, thus relieving gout, muscular pains as well as menstrual pains.

Although Basil usually stimulates, in excess it can have a stupefying effect. It should not be used during pregnancy or on children under 16 years.

Warnings
- Never mix more than 3 oils in any one treatment as the synergistic effects are less predictable.

- Essential Oils are for the use of adults only unless specifically indicated for use on children/infants.
- Never exceed a maximum of 1-3% solution of essential oil to base oil. Approximately 25 drops of essential oil in 50ml of base oil should be used.
