widely used flower oils in perfumery. It is an ingredient in eau de cologne
and blends well with citrus oils and floral oils. Neroli is also used
in premium natural cosmetic preparations such as massage oils, skin creams
and bath oils. Aromatherapy benefits: calming, soothing, sensual.
It is antispasmodic, antidepressant, antiseptic and aphrodisiac. It has

Absolutes
Absolute Essential Oils are oils that are obtained from solvent extraction
of the plants. Alcohol is then used to extract the absolute.
These methods are used to extract the "Essence" from the flower
petals where normal distillation would distort the delicate natural perfume.
Only three Absolute essential oils are used in aromatherapy: Rose, Jasmine
& Orange Blossom (Neroli) while the other absolutes are often used
to create those highly sought after designer perfumes that you can now
create yourself using these fine Absolute oils.
Absolute essential oils differ from distilled essential oils because
they are well known to hold extremely high perfuming or therapeutic power
and therefore need to be used in very low concentrations. Absolute oils
are generally thicker than distilled essential oils and rose absolute
can actually solidify in the bottle in chilly weather, yet also quickly
liquifies when held in the hand for a short time. Pure absolutes are very
expensive and you should dilute them to use safely.
Warnings
- Never mix more than 3 oils in any one treatment as the synergistic effects
are less predictable.
- Many oils are to be avoided in Pregnancy. See Aroma Potions> Pregnancy
Particular
- Essential Oils are for the use of adults only unless specifically indicated
for use on children/infants.
- Never exceed a maximum of 1-3% solution of essential oil to base oil. Approximately
25 drops of essential oil in 50ml of base oil should be used.
