Tips and Tricks... Keep looking back to this page .. and write to us your own tips, we'll put your name on the site!

Do not use Mineral Oil as a carrier oil as it makes a barrier for the skin and inhibits the absorption of essential oils into the skin

Use a floral water to cleanse your face when you get home, and definitely before retiring for the night.  Remember, Natural is always better..and cheaper too. You will see the difference soon.
Remove stubborn mascara and makeup which doesn't come out with floral water with Jojoba Oil

Perfume your drawers and wardrobe with your favorite aromas. Sprinkle some essential oil onto a cotton-wool ball, place inside a small greaseproof bag, prick holes in the bag and place it in a drawer, or pin it to the inside of your wardrobe.

You can sew beautiful gifts for friends or lovers by making Silk Pomanders. Cut a circle of silk, or light fabric, 12cm in diameter, run a thread around the circumference. Place a ball of cotton wool sprinkled with your favorite essences in the centre of the material and gather the material so that you have an aromatic ball. Finish off with a piece of narrow ribbon with which to suspend it from a clothes hanger or anywhere in the room.

Use long-lasting scents rather than the light citrus scents which are more volatile. Try Ylang Ylang , Frankincense, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Jasmine or Rose. In Victorian times, cashmere shawls were imported from India packed in Patchouli leaves to discourage insects. Many essential oils along with Patchouli protect clothing from moths.

I had once used a Musk oil which my husband really liked when he opened his wardrobe. He loved the way his jackets smelt! Musky and masculine, kinda like a woody cologne smell
(If you want a great smelling Musk oil for around 6$ for 1ml, contact us and we can get it for you. Its not in the shop as yet.)

Make your own potpourri! Refresh tired potpourri with few drops of flowery or spicy essential oil. Or make your own with dried rose petals and other flowers, pine and fir cones, Orris root, etc. Try Pine and Frankincense, Rosemary and Rosewood, Bergamot and Lime, Sandalwood and Neroli
Lavender and Lemon smells good and of course Rose and Lavender

And of course use Essential Oils to make your very own Natural Perfumes.. there are books and resources out there to dabble in the reviving art of natural perfumery....
This site aims to be one of the wonderful resources out there www.NaturalPerfumery.com

When making a recipe of your own, start with the Highest dilution of oils (1%)and gradually increase (till 3%). The purpose is to balance the microflora on your body, Too high concentrations will destroy them.
